Frequently Asked

Questions, Answered

The 9 questions we hear most often from clients across Broward County. Don’t see yours? Call (754) 354-0204.

How long does the apostille process take?

Standard turnaround is 5 business days from the time we pick up your documents to the moment they’re ready for office pickup. The actual filing at the Florida Department of State is typically completed in 2–3 business days; the remaining time covers pickup, prep, return travel, and quality control.

What documents can be apostilled in Florida?

Any Florida-issued or Florida-notarized document is eligible. Common categories include vital records (birth, marriage, death, divorce), education documents (diplomas and transcripts), background checks (FDLE, local police, court records), and notarized legal documents (power of attorney, affidavits, authorization letters, travel consent).

If your document was issued by another state or by a federal agency (FBI background check, USCIS records, IRS letters), it cannot be apostilled by Florida — it needs to be authenticated by the originating state or by the U.S. Department of State.

Do you need original documents or are copies accepted?

For vital records (birth, marriage, death, divorce), Florida requires a certified copy issued by the Florida Department of Health or the Clerk of Court — plain photocopies are not eligible. If you have the original certificate, we can apostille that. If you only have a photocopy, we can help you order a certified copy first.

For notarized documents (power of attorney, affidavits), we apostille the document with the original notary signature and seal. If your document hasn’t been notarized yet, we can notarize it on the spot.

How does mobile pickup work?

Call us or submit a request form, and we’ll confirm a pickup window within one business hour. Our courier comes to your home, office, hospital, or any location in Broward County, collects your documents, and provides a written receipt. There’s no extra fee for mobile pickup — it’s the same $190 per document as walk-in.

Can I walk in without an appointment?

Yes. Our Wilton Manors office at 2312 Wilton Dr, Ste 420 accepts walk-ins during business hours: Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–7:00 PM, Saturday 10:00 AM–5:00 PM, Sunday 12:00 PM–5:00 PM. We recommend calling ahead at (754) 354-0204 for same-day visits so we can have your file ready when you arrive.

How do I pay?

We accept credit card, debit card, Zelle, and cash. Payment is collected upfront when we confirm your appointment by phone — you’ll know the exact total before any work begins, with no surprise charges later. The online request form itself doesn’t collect any payment information; that’s handled securely by phone.

My document needs to be notarized first. Can you do that?

Yes. We’re Florida-commissioned notaries and can notarize your power of attorney, affidavit, authorization letter, or travel consent document during pickup. Notarization is a separate service starting at $40 (travel fees may apply for mobile pickup); we’ll quote the total cost upfront so there are no surprises.

What happens if the Department of State rejects my document?

Rejections are rare because we pre-screen every document before filing — we check that vital records are certified copies, that notarizations are current and complete, and that the document type qualifies. If a document is rejected for a reason on our end (filing error, document mishandling), we re-file at no additional cost.

If the rejection is because of an issue with the underlying document (e.g., the certified copy is expired or the notarization is incomplete), we’ll explain what needs to be corrected and re-file once it’s ready.

Which countries accept Florida apostilles?

All 125+ countries that are members of the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention. This includes most of Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Oceania. For non-Hague countries (China, UAE, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, and others), the document needs additional authentication through the U.S. Department of State and the destination country’s consulate — that’s a separate process outside our state-level service.
